Drummer Farms Gazette

Bimonthly Vol. IV No. 3 June 2009

Pool Time

Summer is around the corner and the pool is ready for your enjoyment. The pool hours are between 9:00am - 8:00pm daily:

Pursuant to the Board of Health requirements, all semi-public pool operators MUST test the pool water four (4) times a day and record the test results in a logbook.

The testing process is very simple and takes less than five (5) minutes to complete. There are no requirements as to what time of the day each test should be performed.

To that end, we do not need any more volunteers, but would like to solicit "back up" help just in case of the unexpected. So, if you were not able to volunteer for the season but are interested in being a "back up", please email a Trustee to schedule a brief training. We would like to thank all of our pool volunteers - thank you!

Speed Limit

The speed limit at Drummer Farms is 15 mph. Residents should be mindful of children playing throughout the community. So, please spare a few extra seconds and drive cautiously.

Drummer Farms Committees

Interested in helping out? There is plenty of room for volunteers to serve on a variety of committees, including:
* Architectural Standards Committee - specifications for external lights, doors and railings etc.
* Social events
* Sweat Equity Team
* Gardening Committee

If you would like to volunteer, please call Alpine.

Grilling Safety

Please be aware that Townhouse units must ensure that their gas and charcoal grills are used and stored at least 15 feet away from the structure or any other combustibles. Also, it is illegal to both carry through, and store in any dwelling, LG or propane gas tanks or any other flammable fuels. Additionally, using open flame gas and charcoal grills is prohibited in any part of the common area, including on the walkways or parking areas outside any unit.

Please refrain from discarding propane tanks in the dumpster area. This poses a serious risk to the safety and well-being of the community and is a violation of Rules and Regulations at Drummer Farms.

The tanks must be taken to an authorized place for disposal: Ace Hardware in Acton (978) 263-7754 or check Yellow Page listings under "Gas - Propane" for a company who will take tanks for reuse.

If you have any questions regarding this serious safety issue please contact Alpine. Thank you and have a safe summer!

Exterior Alterations

Please remember that any alterations, additions or improvements made to the exterior of the buildings or grounds must first be approved in writing by the Board of Trustees. Exterior changes include, but are not limited to, such items as doors (even if you are replacing an existing one), windows, flowerbeds, etc.

If you are interested in making a change, please submit a letter to Alpine for approval from the Board. Any unit owner that does not have prior approval will be subject to a fine.
